Year 5 - Session 2 - Week 1 & 2

👷🏼‍♀️DREAM CREATE INSPIRE 🤯

This session we are dreaming, creating and inspiring through the lens of an entrepreneur. The not for profit, DCI Kids, is set to host their 4th annual Acton Children’s Business Fair at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles on December 9, 2023, from 10am-2pm.

Our Discovery learners are embarking on an Entrepreneurship Quest this session. They will be visited by several entrepreneurs while researching many famous, generous business owners. They will prepare for the business fair by each creating a product or service to present at the one-day market. Through experiments and simulations, heroes will get the chance to work on a logo design and other advertising plans, create a budget, make prototypes and receive feedback and much more!

In Civilization, heroes will take a deep dive into a child’s world in Colonial America. The one-room schoolhouse, outside games, common toys, apprenticeships and other experiences will be some of the topics they explore.

Each week the heroes will have Fun Time Friday where they will have extra game/free time with a little surprise! In order to earn these experiences, heroes will have certain criteria that they have to meet like gain % in Khan, read so many pages in a badge book, not be excused from any launch and give character callouts. We can’t wait to see who rises to the challenge!
