Year 4 - Session 6 - Week 5

Happy Weekend!

The heroes stepped it up at the most recent spelling bee competition this week with Oliver winning the final word! Way to GO!

Heroes also worked super duper hard on Reflex this week gaining .5-5% and all gaining 2% in Khan.

Heroes received this invite for quest this week:

Attention Discovery Environmental Scientists! Now that you have completed your research into the agricultural components that are impacting your city, it’s time to decide which regenerative agricultural practice YOU think will most positively impact your community. Your choices are:

Waste Reduction/Carbon Footprint
Regenerative Soil and Planting Practices
Regenerative Animal Farming
Supporting the Pollinator Population

They worked in partners to create a presentation for the city council. Each presentation had to have at least 4 sentences, 1 visual component, a recording of you and your partner practicing the presentation. On Wednesday, heroes presented to their studiomates and the top presentation was voted on to share at exhibition. The top presentaters were Halle & JF!

The pitch a pet practice final check-off for exhibition was this week. Heroes met in their squads and reviewed all the pitches to give the Greenlight for exhibition. Next week, heroes will work to type up their pitch so it is ready to go! They can’t wait for families to hear what they’ve been preparing.

Since we were on our field trip Friday, Game Time got moved to Movie Time Thursday. The heroes enjoyed the 1995 making of “From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler,” the book that they have been listening to during story time each Tuesday and Thursday. They also devoured movie theatre butter popcorn and juice!

And of course the highlight of our week was our Field Trip as a school to the Tietje Crawfish Farm and Co-op and ending it at the Alligator Chateau in Jennings for a picnic lunch!
